CASSIE COURTNEY
Pacific Northwest marketing and branding professional, serving happy clients.
Cassie is a Pacific Northwest–based marketing director and brand strategist working at the intersection of music, culture, and digital storytelling. She leads marketing for PDX Jazz and the Portland Jazz Festival and Pickathon Music Festival, along with concert promoters Soul'd Out Productions and Pickathon Presents and venues including Showdown Saloon, Jack London Revue, Star Theater, and Boom Boom Room.
She is Founder and CEO of Rootnote Creative, a boutique music-industry agency and strategic partner to venues, promoters, festivals, and select touring artists. Her experience spans two decades across music, radio broadcasting, food and beverage, luxury and destination marketing, and digital agency work for national brands, including CBS Radio, Alpha Broadcasting, and Marketing Director for Maryhill Winery & Amphitheater.
Every engagement starts with cohesive brand identity — and the campaigns that carry it across every touchpoint. She designs for print and digital alike, from posters, brochures, and event programs to billboards, vehicle wraps, and digital and social ad creative, extending into environmental design and full-scale event signage — tasting rooms and small business openings through to concert and festival branding, wayfinding, and on-site installations. She also works across public relations and media buying, social media management, email campaigns, and web development, bridging creative direction with performance-driven execution.
She is a past Board of Directors member for the Greater Goldendale Area, Gorge Owned, and the Mid-Columbia Economic Development District, and a past committee member for the Eastern Gorge Food Trail. She has also volunteered on the marketing committees of the Columbia Gorge Wine Association and The Dalles Chamber of Commerce, and supported the Washington Wine Commission, Washington Tourism Alliance and Mt. Adams Chamber of Commerce.
